I thought I would chat a little about Timber sheds!
Timber Sheds-Panel Buildings- Tough Garden Sheds- Robust Garden Sheds- Quality Garden sheds and so on, but all in all they are Sheds!
How is a normal shed manufactured, this is a typical construction type.
All Framing & Cladding is fully Pressure Treated
O.S.B Roof & Floor Included
Diagonal Supports for added strength
Safety Plastic for Windows
High Quality Green Mineral Felt
Complete with Screws & Fixings
12mm T&G Shiplap Cladding
50mm x 25mm Framing
11mm O.S.B Floor and Roof
So lets start at the beginning!
Fully pressure treated, why does your shed need to be fully treaded, the answer for this is quite simple, the building materials used is so thin it would rot with in a year, so chemicals are needed to stop this!
OSB flooring, this is done also for cost, Keeping Costs low and Earning massive profits!
Diagonal Supports for added strength, why does a shed need added strength? It’s an easy one to answer, the thin framework is so poor, and inadequate they must reinforce it!
Safety is paramount, so plastic in the windows/ doors for a building, which might fall down, is a great idea!
Most Shed’s are clad in a mere 12mm shiplap, this material comes from the second cut of the log, which means that it will have a huge amount of knots running down the plank!
This material is normally made into eco pellets for burning for the local community in the log cabin industry, however in the shed industry, this substandard material is used for manufacturing Quality Sheds! All pun intended.
New for 2014 we will have a new Log Cabin Shed Range! Starting with 28mm shed wall thickness, and 19mm floor and roof! Available with opening and none opening windows, and quality solid doors.
